How to get exposure to the billion dollar drone industry.

Depending upon who you listen to, the drone industry could be worth as much as $17 billion by 2024.

There seems to be no end to the potential uses of drones and therefore business opportunities, such as:

  • Military and public infrastructure threats

  • Commercial delivery systems for giants like Amazon

  • Industrial drones for better business intelligence

  • General security surveillance

  • Homeland national security and public safety

  • Criminal activity using drones

  • Air safety issues

  • Privacy and espionage

There are now at least three companies listed on the ASX that offer exposure to this growing industry -

Droneshield ASX:DRO

[Drone security solutions which protect people, organisations and critical infrastructure from intrusion from drones.]

Department 13 International ASX:D13

[Also counter drone technology which exploits the basic physics of radio waves.]

We were hoping to bring you an interview with Parazero CEO Eden Attias, but he has been caught up in Greece until next week, so we will bring you that interview next Sunday.

But this week saw Droneshield post its quarterly report for June 30th.

The company recently announced a $3.2m order (the “MOD Order”) for 70 of it's DroneGunsTM by a Middle Eastern Ministry of Defence Department.

It also been reported that the Company received cash inflows of $431,681 from customers during the quarter, making it the best quarter in terms of cash generation since inception. This compares to $35,708 received from customers in the prior quarter.

We recently interviewed the CEO of DroneShield, Oleg Vornick, just after the $3.2m order was announced and he said it was just the beginning for the company - a point reiterated in their quarterly report.

From Paris, he spoke with InsideMarket's, Phil Carey.
